Horni Plana in Bohemian Forest
Mountains with the wild forests and deep valleys, meadow hills with brooks, bewitching beauty nature with sun and silent primaeval forests, great peat bogs, springs of well-known czech rivers, glacial lakes, many kinds of rare flowers and animals and only sparsely populated areas - this is Bohemian forest - the heart of Europa.
You are just in the southern part of Bohemian forest. The best-known place is Lipno river dam on the Vltava river. The river lake is 42 kilometers long and 16 kilometers weit. There are the biggest mountain of Bohemian forest - The Plechy (1.378 meters) with The Plechy mountain lake here. You can visit also the 150 years old Stifter obelisk (Adalbert Stifter war a famous writer living the 19.centuries in Horni Plana), Schwarzenberg water canal (is was used for wood transport in the18.centuries), deer lake and bear memorial, Wittinghaus castle, triboarder of Czech republik, Bavaria and Osterreich, Rosenberger palace and 60 years God forgotten places - the rigth side of the Vltava river.
You can take your trips from centre of tourist area - Horni Plana by car, by bus, by train, with bike or go on foot. Many of tourist footpath are ready for you, too. We wish a nice time.

The boarding house HOCHWALD is situated in the centre of the little town Horni Plana. The Lipno river damm ist 800 meter distant from our boarding house. We have prepared good accomodation for our guests: six double and triple rooms with standard niveau. Every room has shower and WC. Breakfast is served in our breakfast room. The dinners are served in the restaurants 20 meter distant.
380,- Czech crowns /Kè/ (16 Euro) for night and bed (arrival after 1.00 P.M, departure before 10.00 A.M.).
The breakfast costs 90,- Kè (4 Euro). If you stay only 1 to 3 days then you pay 240,- Kè (10 Euro) extra payment.
The bording house Hochwald prices itself on its pleasant, relaxed and favourable atmosphere. Our aspiration is contentment of our guests. The boarding house is devoted for cultivated, tactful and non conflicting people. Our guests are oft the well-known public persons, which want to regain their living power.
The breakfast ist served in good quantities: An abundance of coffee and tea, the main structure of meal are hard and fine cheese, Prager ham oder better sousages, 100% juites (orange, grape ore pine apple), butter with rolls and bread. The alternative is yoghurt with jam. The breakfast beginns at 8.45 a.m. and ends at 10.00 a.m. If you plan some trip you can arrange another time, too. The meal for one peson costs 85,- Kè (5 Euro).
The smokers can use the banks in our garden behind the house.

There is the garden with the ofen for grilling and sitting with friends in the boarding house. The bike-riders can borow the bike, you can store your privat bike in the special room. There is not possible taking the pets (dogs, cats ..) in the house.

The boarding house HOCHWALD is devoted to lovers of deep forests, big mounmains, large meadows of Bohemian forest and endless water mirror of Lipno river dam. Our slogan "ACCOMODATION IN HORNI PLANA - IN QUIET PLACE AND IN THE CETRE OF THE BEING, TOO" just reflects the reality. The boarding house is placed in the middle of the Horni Plana square, but if you enter the romantic garden you gain the feeling that you are out of the hustle and bustle of our little town. You can spend many of marvelous evenings sitting at fire in the garden. The rooms are quiet with good standard and the highest quantity of guests is only 15 - just for your comfort and hospitality within your stay. In the light sunny breakfast room we prepare the good meal for you. The other service for our guests is the shop in the first floor with picture postcards, maps, souveniers, picture galery, books and guide books - everything what you wish.
The non pasteurized nature - the non pasteurized beer
The natural products belong to the Bohemian forest nature. You can taste the non pasteurized beer in our boarding house.
The non pasteurized beer stays alive after drawing all the time, too. It preserves the brewer´s yeast with "B" vitamins, which are essential for human being. The vitamins keep in operation your nervous system, they guarantee metabolism and prevent skin diseases.
The production of beer witout pasteurization (i.e. without heating up on higher temperature) is demanding, but this production is more honest to the customers. It requires pure cleanliness and it expells any additives.
The boarding house Hochwald offers the non pasteurized beer from the family brewery Bernard: barbeer, lagers, specials, non alcohol beer; pale or amber (dark). Do something for your health - have a drink!

The little town of Horni Plana

Horni Plana is situated in the 776 meter above the see. There are 1800 inhabitans here. The place is known as the birtplace of the famous writer in the Bohemian forest - Adalbert Stifter. Wir called the name of our boarding house by his famous novel "The Hochwald". This time Horni Plana makes a good impression of the quiet oasis ih the rush world. The offer of activities is indeed very wide: You can visit many natural objects of interess and cultural events. You can take place in touristics, riding the bike (soft or hard) or hoarse, picking mushrooms, wingsurfing, swimming or fishing. You can only lay dawn on the water beach or sitting in the many pubs, too. Our little town is also the point of departure for wondering the all parts of whole Bohemian forests - in Czech republic, Austria and Germania. Austria boarder is only 9 kilometers from our boarding house, the Germania 38 kilometers - using by car.

- Mountain of three states - 22 kilometers (by train, on foot, by bike, by car) - the original connecting of thee states: Bohemian kingdom, Austria and Gernany, there is the typical bavarian pub on the mountain, you can sit down on the stone thrones of three kings
- Bear road - 10 kilometers (by train, on foot), the forest footpath with bizarr stones (Sleeping beauty, Wobble stone, Robber´s cave, Chapel…), inclusive with Deer´s lake and The last bear monument)
- Moldaublick lookout tower - 12 lilometers (by car, by bike, on foot), the lookout tower in Austria, views on the Lipno river dam (originaly for the exiles after the World war II.)
- Wittinghausen castle - 25 kilometers (by car, by bike, on foot), the highestly situted caste in Bomemian forest (now with the new lookout tower), in the vicinity there´s a special restaurant the original Schwarzenberg little palace, Saint Thomas church in the wilderness (600 years) wiht many legends
- Frymburg village - 22 kilometers (by car, by bike), one of the typical little towns in the Bohemian forest
- Marina Lipno aquapark - 30 kilometers (by car), a large entertairment centre in the lower part of the Lipno river dam
- Town of Cesky Krumlov - the unique town with historic buildings, coltural opportunities, original shops
- Rychnuvek area - 35 kilometers (by car, by bike), wasted area of the exiles after Word war II., spontaneous natural succesion (the unique of Europa) - 60 years old
- Devil´s wall - 35 kilometers (by car), an interesting glacial stone see, the legend says the devils make the dam with the purpose to demolish the Vyssi Brod monastry
- Town of Vyssi Brod - another typical town of Bohemian forest, the 800 years old Cistercians monastry, the family vault of Rosenberger princes
- Town of Rozmberk - 45 kilometers (by car), the noble palace of Rosenberger princes, the world famous lady in white legend, the palace is rich in interiers (unique furniture, prince armour, pictures)
